Chia seeds from our raw food shelves, sold alongside the grains, spices and oils we stock for cooking at home. The tiny black and grey seeds carry almost no flavour of their own, which is exactly what makes them so useful.
Stir them into smoothies and juices, soak them overnight in milk or water for a soft pudding, scatter them over porridge, or work them into bread and cakes. Soaked in liquid they swell and turn gel-like, so a spoonful goes further than it looks.
Store them dry and sealed. Pick them up at the shop in Remera, or order online for delivery across Kigali from Jollof Bistro.
