Shortbread is butter, sugar and flour and very little else, baked until it is pale gold and short enough to crumble the moment you bite it. Sweet, buttery and completely free of heat, it is the biscuit you want next to tea or coffee.
Ours comes off the same bakery side of the kitchen as our cakes and small chops, so it is baked fresh rather than sitting in a warehouse somewhere.
